Give It Back! Souper Bowl of Caring

Super Bowl XLVI (that’s 46) is on Sunday, February 5, 2012.  There will be much revelling, much ado about Madonna, and goofy commercials.  But across the country, participants in the Souper Bowl of Caring will make a huge difference in the lives of local residents.

This group is a national movement of young people working to fight hunger and poverty in their own communities.  The first “Souper Bowls” collected canned soups for food pantries, expanded, and now include events to raise not only food donations, but funds for other local charities.

Take a moment to find your local participants, and see how you can effortlessly help those in need in Omaha, or wherever you are.

Give It Back! is an occasional series on Cheap Thrills in Omaha about caring for others in our community.  You can help others score in life by a simple donation of time, talent or treasure.
