What has Cheap Thrills planned for this week?
I’ve been pushing fruit and vegs for lunches and dinners. We’ve enjoyed fruits of all kinds, carrot sticks and even lettuce in wraps for lunch! And I’ve been through lots of the vegs (can, frozen and fresh) I had on hand. It’s all good.
Tuesday I conduct another freezer/pantry inventory, and plan further out based on that. Do you inventory your freezer occasionally? Seems about once a month or so I take stock; sometimes it’s scary. I think my suspicions of having waaaay too much chicken are going to play out in real time. Thank goodness for searchable databases. Meanwhile, here’s what’s on our dinner menu:
Sunday: Chicken/apple sausages (1.74/pack), sauerkraut ($1) in the Crock, potato gratin (.75)
Monday: Out to dinner. 🙂
Tuesday: Lasagne casserole freezer meal (leftover ground beef, FREE noodles, .74 spaghetti sauce, .99 mozarrella, .69 cottage cheese), salad (.50), Cheesy Spaghetti Squash minus tomatoes (~.75)
Wednesday: Cheesy Ham and Potato Casserole freezer meal (leftover ham, hash browns .59, soup .16, cheese 1/2 of .99), green beans (.25)
Thursday: Tuna cakes (.39 x 2 cans, eggs .88/doz), Alexia sweet potato fries (.97), salads (.50)
Friday: Whole grain spaghetti (.69) and meatballs (2.00), green veg tbd
Saturday: Last week’s unmade ham and bean soup (beans $1, ham bone leftover from Christmas — it was in the freezer, as DH used diced ham for his soup), beer bread ($1) — I was under the weather, forgot to put on the soup, so DH got pizza.
