Award-winning poet and essayist Gary Holthaus and internationally acclaimed musician Lauren Pelon will perform at the Millard Branch of the Omaha Public Library on January 20, 2011, 7:00 PM (branch usually closes @ 6 PM). Pelon plays a variety of ancient and modern instruments including lute, lyre, concertina, recorders, gemshorn, electric wind controller and pedalboard. Holthaus reads from his own work and also from the work of others. Both the music and the readings offer unique perceptions of the natural world and celebrate our sense of place, community and home. The program is funded in part by the Nebraska Humanities Council and the Nebraska Cultural Endowment, and is sponsored by Friends of Omaha Public Library and Picaresque II. 13214 Westwood Ln.

Momma loves to cook (and eat!), and to share what's in her freezer with you. I've been cooking for many decades, learning about the best nutrition, ingredients and techniques for my family. I've lived in Michigan, Georgia and Nebraska, and bring a little of each of those places into my cooking. Momma loves to travel throughout the U.S., and enjoys local cuisine along the way.
