Menu Planning: 12/19-12/25/10 — The Christmas Edition

What has Cheap Thrills planned for this week?

‘Tis the season to be crazy, fa la la la la…. Oh.  No, huh?  Well, ’tis the season to enjoy family, tradition, and the last few days of Advent!  Maybe the “issues” like broken commode workings, homework detentions, and unsure weather will fade into the background, and the JOY of it all will shine, shine, shine!  Here’s what’s on our menu:

Sunday:  Potluck at the German American Society.  I did not have to cook — HEY!  #1 made the cabbage salad (about $2)

Monday:  Apple bourbon pork chops (3.58), spaetzle (1.50), green beans (.25)

Tuesday:  BBQ chicken ($1) sandwiches (.69 for buns), steak fries (.50), carrot sticks (.35), celery (.20)

Wednesday:  Steak & Cheese soup (1.50), salads (.50), beer bread ($1)

Thursday:  Asian chicken soup (~$1)

Friday/Christmas Eve:  Grilled petite sirloin steaks (big splurge; I won’t even scare you), baked potatoes (.75), salads (.50), peppermint ice cream (.25) with hot fudge sauce (.50)

Saturday/Christmas Day:  Spiral-sliced ham (1.49/#), carrots (.50), green beans (.25), mashed potatoes (.50), chocolate-covered cream puffs ($4 splurge)
