Menu Planning: 11/7-11/13/10

What has Cheap Thrills planned for this week?

I’ve enjoyed the time and energy I’ve had to really cook last week.  I also had time to make more cookies, as well as some treats:  pumpkin spice mini muffins, brownie pops (trial run), and nice, healthy breakfasts.  This week I’ll be doing more cooking for the approaching cold weather.  Here’s what I have planned:

Sunday:  Grilled cheese (FREE cheese) sandwiches for the guys, tomato soup (.24) (after Rake It Out)

Monday: Chicken enchiladas from the freezer (FREE chicken, .99 tortillas, .99 cheese, .50 cream cheese, homemade enchilada sauce = .30), whole grain taco rice (.38 total) for the guys

Tuesday:  Extra lean burger ($1/#) stroganoff (.60 for all), salad (.50 for all)

Wednesday:  Pork bbq from the freezer (<.99/#), steak fries (~.30 for potatoes), slaw or salad (.50)

Thursday: Variation of Swiss Chicken (chicken .50, cheese .99, soup .49), rice (.10 per serving), green beans (.34); also making Bacon-Wrapped Chicken for the freezer

Friday:  Pasta with Beans and Sweet Italian Sausage (pasta .50, beans .39, sausage $1.50, tomatoes .35)

Saturday:  (Last week I subbed this dish for “wing it” turkey chili (~$3 for the pot) and chips (.99) b/c we were watching the game)  Highly seasoned beef pot roast (splurge, but got FREE vegs), potatoes (~.30) for the guys, carrots ($1)
