Menu Planning: 10/24-10/30/10

What has Cheap Thrills planned for this week?

Hmmm.  Except for a few minor activities, this seems to be a pretty calm week, schedule-wise.  And by “schedule” I mean the 3pm-till-bedtimes-homework-meetings-stuff Dash.  With a relative calm in mind, I’m going to try a few new recipes and try to get more of the 600 cookies made.

Here are our dinner menus for the week.  I usually feed four of us, including one teen with a hollow leg.  I’m taking advantage of some pretty great sale items, and the pasta recipe ConAgra sent me this week.

Sunday:  At the Marty Party with snacks and hot dogs; leftovers at home if we’re still hungry

Monday: pan-grilled pork chops (.99/#), wide egg noodles (.69), carrots (still eating the FREE ones)

Tuesday:  meatballs sandwiches (frozen meatballs in sauce $1, French bread .39, mozarella (1/2)  .99=.50), salads (.50)

Wednesday:  Beefy Tomato and Spinach Rotini

Thursday: Chicken Fajitas based on this recipe (peppers 1.19 sliced and frozen for this purpose; chicken tenders 1.50), tortillas (part of a package, so .50),  flavored whole grain white rice FREE

Friday:  grilled cheese sandwiches (oat bran bread (1/2) 1.69/loaf, cheese FREE, butter (1/8) 1.25/#), tomato soup (.24)

Saturday:  maybe one last grillage with steaks ($4 for all), baked potatoes (FREE), cole slaw (canIfindadeal?), add some of my FREE chicken to the grill for next week
