What has Cheap Thrills planned for this week?
A week of comings and goings, and the menu plan really helped! I’m back in the flow of things, and the menus will continue to provide Cheap Thrills as Life continues to throw curve balls. The Husker Sangria was dee-lish: Fill a large glass with ice; add 2 parts apple wine, one part cherry cider. Fruity, sweet, light. Thanks, Arbor Day Farm guy!
The upcoming week presents scheduling challenges, but I’ve created my menu to take advantage of that. No more ride home for #1, which means I cruise from LaVista to Bennington, back home, then to Oakview, then back home. Just two more weeks of that, then we can devise another schedule. Ga-raaaaate. So here we go with easy meals.
Sunday: 2 out at a meeting, 2 home: chicken vegetable soup (.25) with leftover grilled chicken ($1), and crackers (really cheap)
Monday: Giant “stuffed pizza burger” meatballs (nearly free ground beef, Italian sausage 1.99, string cheese Cheap), spaghetti (.39), salads (.50 for all)
Tuesday: Breakfast for Dinner — eggs (.79/doz), turkey sausages .78, toast=pennies, homemade crabapple jelly
Wednesday: pasta alfredo (pasta .67, sauce .99), salads (.50 for all)
Thursday: Spice-Rubbed Picnic Chicken (America’s Test Kitchen) (price tbd by sale this week), rice (.10/serving), green beans (.34 for all)
Friday: tuna patties (.39/can), boiled potatoes (free) w/butter and parsley, carrots (free)
