I’m on a mission this year: spend $80 or less per week on groceries for my family of four! After reconciling all our expenses for 2009, all the while remembering the splurges during a special family celebration and replenishing of food storage, I realized I could and would do better in 2010. With the skills I’ve obtained, and the deals on some web sites I’ve discovered, “I hereby pledge to lower my food budget this year!”
This was a strange week, but a good week for deals. I have replenished my freezers with meals, ingredients (thank goodness cheese went on sale again!), and even bread (FREE!). BTS means cheap peanut butter, bread and milk. Chicken and pork have been on sale. Tomatoes not so much, but corn deals should be coming soon.
This week for just food I spent $80.33 — just pennies over my weekly budget. This puts me at $263.66 under budget for the year! FREE was the name of the game this week, and I got quite a few things. I’m pleased with my deals, and so blessed to be able to feed my family abundantly. You can read what I got here:
